Special notes: the attendees must attend all three sessions in full. If they do not attend the class for its entire duration, they won’t be certified to sail Lasers.
There is one extra spot for the Byte, which is a smaller version of the laser, for smaller sailors. Please email education@sailtoronto.com to register on the Byte.
1) attendance is mandatory, so missing any part of the training means no certification.
2) Students must be fit enough to be able to confidently recover the boat after a capsize.
Schedule
On Day 1, we will start with a rigging session. No sailing that day.
On Day 2, you will learn how to launch a Laser from the dock and how to sail a simple course, tacking and gybing, and returning to the dock.
On day 3, we will learn more advanced techniques of sailing upwind and downwind and sailing in a group. Likely, we will have a race or play a game with racing elements. By the end of the class, we’ll practice capsizing and recovering the boat after a capsize.
