teach sailing

It might sound strange to think about training other members as you just completed your cansail 1&2 course, but you don't need to be the most experienced sailor to help new members. There is 3 levels that you can participate:

  1. Old salting: helming a boat with a cansail 1&2 student during their first 2 sessions
  2. Community instructor: acting as the second, junior instructor in a cansail 1&2 course
  3. Instructor: acting as the primary, senior instructor in a cansail 1&2 course

Becoming an instructor is a great way to sail. You get to be on the water with a group of excited students, you get to grow your knowledge of sailing and you get to train . Moreover, it helps pay for your courses and reduce your membership fees.
