We will have our big blow-out work party this weekend, April 12th, to get the club ready for the new sailing season. It will be our normal affair of lifting boats off storage units, raking up the fallen remnants of winter, cleaning out the sail shed, tiding up Klinger's Cottage, dusting cobwebs from the clubhouse, scrubbing the kitchen, and all the other hundreds of things that need to get done to get going.
Due to the continued presence of ice, the only thing missing will be the docks swinging over our heads into the water. The clubs in the outer harbour have all agreed to push the date for the crane back by another week... The crane is now scheduled for April 19th. Of course, this is the Easter long weekend and we expect many of our members to be busy with family, hence the decision to go ahead with an "Everything-But-The-Docks-In" work party as planned on the 12th.
Come down, help out. Don’t be shy - just ask what needs to be done. Lots of tasks inside and out. Your reward – a free hot breakfast with 50 of your sailing friends!
