Parties, Dinners and Special Events

J-Town holds at least nine parties a year, as well as other special events all listed on the Club calendar and some described below. There are also parties at neighbouring clubs to which J-Town members are invited on most other weekends throughout the summer.

Spring Fling	Meet fellow members at a central pub and bring friends interested in joining.
Docks In	Put the docks in, generally tidy up and have a simple breakfast to keep your energy up
Lobsterfeast	Lobsters and other food, dancing
White Sail Party/J-Town Regatta	Racing, dinner and dance
Annual General Meeting Dinner	Elections and potluck dinner
Docks Out	Get the docks out and tidy up for the winter. Enjoy a meal together.
Year End Splash	Year end party: awards, dinner, dancing
Christmas Party	Santa, traditional dinner, gabfest
Skating Party	Get out on the lake midwinter!

Social Sail and Dinners

Sunday and Wednesday evenings from June on, there is organized social sailing. If you don't have a sailing partner, you will be paired up so that you can sail even if you don't yet have your White Sail III. This is a great opportunity for beginner sailors to get more practice and for experienced sailors to meet other members.

In addition, Wednesdays, you will get a wonderful meal prepared by club members for under $8.00, just covering the cost of the ingredients. You must sign-up before the day either at the club or by calling down when someone is there - most evening and weekends.

Sunday Social Sails are Potluck - you don't have to sign up but bring some food to share. Of course, you may come just for the dinner and socializing!

Paired Sailing

In addition to the Wednesday social sailing, there is paired sailing on one or both weekend days; the times are shown on the calendar. An experienced club member will match people according to their skills. Often after these on water sessions there will be an informal potluck dinner.
